Olivia Goes to Mesa Falls

Yesterday, we took a trip to some beautiful waterfalls that are just a 45 minute drive away from our house. Mesa Falls is just a short day trip, not even a hike, but a fun thing to do on a Saturday. This wasn't Olivia's first time going. As you may recall, she went when she was inside my tummy. Here's a trip down memory lane:

There's Olivia. The day after we found out she was a girl!

We went with our friends Rose and Joe down to Mesa Falls this time. The view that we had of the Lower Falls was just super far away, so John and Joe decided to take a closer look. Believe it or not, this next series of pictures don't have Olivia in them.

Zoomed in pictures of John and Joe.

Here is how far away they were from us. They climbed down all these rocks.

Their view of Rose, Olivia, and me.

Here is my view of the Lower Falls.

And here are the Lower Falls zoomed in 12 times to see John and Joe.

John and Joe made it back up alive.

And now the series of pictures of Olivia begins:

I've always had problems matching my own socks. Unfortunately, Olivia has the same problem. However, it is not a problem anymore! She now has these cute Chinese shoes that are not only adorable, but cover up her mismatched socks.

Olivia loves sticking her tongue out now. A nice lady from church comes over once each month and teaches me things that I should do to help with Olivia's development. One of the things she told me to do was to stick on tongue out at her and she will do the same. Now she does it all the time when she's around me! It just adds to her cuteness.

Our Mesa Falls family picture. Next time we'll tilt Olivia more so you can see her face.

Olivia is now heading out for her Sunday walk! She's awake this time.

Until next time everyone. We'll keep you posted on our adventures.

First Anniversary, Red Egg and a Baby Blessing

John and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary last month. We were able to eat our wedding cake for the first time. It was delish even a year later. If anyone in Sacramento needs a wedding cake, let me know and I will give you the info of my wedding cake maker.

I guess in China, when a baby reaches the ripe age of one month, they throw a party called a red egg celebration. I don't know much other than they have red eggs and red envelopes. My father-in-law and mother explained it to me, but it didn't stick. Instead, we just have pictures of her as a one-month-old baby.

Olivia even went to Texas Road House on her one month birthday!

For her one month birthday, my parents bought her a cradle/swing. It wasn't really just for her one month birthday, but it was to keep her mother sane. Olivia use to always want to be held. Even when she fell asleep and I would put her down, she knew it and cried until she was picked up again. Thanks to the swing, mama has a lot more freedom.

Olivia had her baby blessing this past weekend. Her grandparents, Uncle Ryan, Mackenzie, her mom, sister, and kids came up to visit! I didn't get a picture of Olivia with my parents. It was a busy day, but we did get one with John's parents!

Then we took a picture of all the kids together. Keelie was so much fun to have around and had so much fun playing with her dime! She loves her little brother and it was so cute watching her with him. Here are all the kids right next to each other. Sorry the picture is on it's side. I can't get it to be normal.

Coming up soon: Yellowstone!
